Artistic Statement for Chelsea M.

My visual sharing process, of studying fairy tales is an artistic exploration. An exploration of the endless places where you're imagination can take you. I have always been a fan of the stories by Hans Christian Anderson and the Grimm Brothers. There is just something nostalgic but relatable about the stories we hear as children. Stories that leave us with the feelings of the struggle between good versus evil. This interesting dichotomy is shown through the medium of oil paints, color choices, and textures. By achieving this, my hope is that you leave with contentment and satisfaction.

I have a few sources of inspiration. One can be expressed through this quote. “All the adversity I've had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me... You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.” This quote was spoken from Walt Disney and helped to inspire my attitude for this series.
